The Ixali threat came and went almost seasonally near Fallgourd's Float. This small settlement on the water saw days of booming business and days of desolation. As a local resident, Erica had seen Fallgourd in all its phases. A simple chocobo keeper with a lust for life, she was instead trapped in the hum drum and everyday goings on of Fallgourd Float. Travelers came from far and wide to experience the local teas, and small town hospitality the settlement had to offer. A moment's respite to soothe the weary adventurer.

Travelers would share news from far and wide. Her long ears would perk and pivot towards the latest gossip, whether she was a part of the conversation or not. Her own days were taken up with helping care for and train the rental chocobos. She would look on and with a half-hearted wave, sending off these travelers day after day.

Erica was grateful for the peaceful life her parents blessed her with before their passing. An older Hyur couple and residents of Fallgourd Float who had taken an orphaned Viera babe into their care. They knew little of the secretive culture of the Viera from the mountains. Erica struggled to fit her into their society as a result, her gender unknown until she became of age.
